Hamish Baird Photography

Your Shoot Day

Booking process

  1. Schedule a quick phone conversation (optional) about your shoot day so that we can run through the details and I can answer any questions you might have.

  2. I'll then email you a link to my booking form/contract, from which you pick your package, confirm the details of your shoot day and pay the booking fee.

Before the shoot

I'll be in touch again a week before the shoot to double check you are happy with our arrangement and to see whether you would like to tweak it in any way. I'll also send you a Shoot Day Kit Checklist to help ensure that none of your gear gets left behind.

What's included in the package?

  1. Hamish as your shoot photographer for the whole day.

  2. All photographs can be downloaded directly from the photo gallery. (Downloadable Zip file)

  3. Secure password protected Gallery with options for viewing as thumbnail, single or slideshow.

  4. Your own Client Page, where all your forms, correspondences, receipts and photographs are stored in one place. Your page will be available online for 12 months after your shoot, giving you ample time to access, download and revisit your photographs.

  5. End of day 'Team Photo' print. (A4 glossy) in protective sleeve.

What else is available?

If you would like to book me for the day and to include a photobook or some prints, please get in touch and we can discuss a package that suits you needs. For more information about the products I have on offer, please visit my Products page.

On the Day

  • I aim to be as discreet as possible when it comes to working around you and your party, maintaining a presence that I hope is for the most part, peripheral.

  • I will arrive at the shoot location 40 minutes before the Guns arrive to prepare my kit.

  • From experience I have found that it's best that I introduce myself to everyone individually as they arrive, so that I can establish a rapport, explain my position and determine perhaps if there is anyone who would rather not be photographed.

  • I like to begin the day working with a lens that allows me to keep my distance and relatively out of sight. This I find helps the party to relax while allowing me to get the crucial establishing shots of the day.

  • If possible, I prefer to follow the shoot party in my 4WD as it becomes a mobile workspace from which I plan, process and asses the results of the shoot in real time.

After the Shoot

Once the shoot has concluded, I immediately start to process your photographs, sorting out the best from the average, before giving them a basic edit to address any glaring issues with their exposure etc.

Once the basic edit is complete, I then pick the best photographs from the day and then upload them to your shoot day gallery. Click HERE to find out more about the products I have on offer.
